Top Line Athletes Fall 2022 Racing!

Fall 2022 Race Report.

Top Line athletes have had an action-packed year! Racing began early in 2022 with athletes doing early spring road races. Triathlon season kicked off in April with Ironman 70.3 Texas and continued into November with Oilman Texas Triathlon. We have had a great year with plenty of learning experiences along the way. Below we recap some of the final races of the season and look forward to what 2023 will bring!

Pictured above is the lovely Chai Nguyen before and after completing Ironman Waco on October 15th, 2022. Chai battled hard all day to ensure she crossed that finish line and used her mental fortitude to keep her head in the game on a hot and windy day! Chai, a physician from Lubbock, also stopped numerous tines on the course to check on other athletes who appeared to be struggling in the heat. Chai’s attitude is always positive and upbeat and she is already thinking about setting new goals for the coming season. Way to go Chai!

On the day following Ironman Waco, Ashley Ellis-Dotson and her husband Mark (pictured above) competed in Ironman 70.3 Waco. Athletes were treated to a torrential downpour during the race, making life a little more interesting than planned. Ashley successfully managed a flat tired during the ride and came away with a personal best at the 70.3 distance! Ashley balances a very busy career as a city prosecutor with her athletic pursuits, and other important aspects of her life. She is the picture of consistency and executes every workout with focus and intent. There are big things ahead for Ashley! I am honored to get to work with such a dedicated and motivated group of athletes!

Coach Nik (pictured above) competed in Oilman Texas Triathlon in beautiful Conroe, Texas on Nov 6th, 2022. This was Nik’s second time to race here and the experience did not disappoint! These independent races have a very special feel to them and the atmosphere is such a draw to keep coming back to. Nik had a balanced race with a strong swim and bike. The run was tough but Nik held steady onto her second place. The top female races as a professional but Nik was more than happy to come away with second overall and a Master’s category win! Oilman Texas race results can be found HERE.

A huge thanks to our Friday swim group (pictured above) for creating the BEST possible environment for swim excellence! Everyone shows up with the best attitude and gives it their all. I am beyond grateful for the camaraderie, the friendship, and the athletic benefits of this group! Stay tuned for swim group times for next season!

FINAL THOUGHTS: This blog entry is the final entry for the 2022 triathlon race season but stay tuned for more to come! We will have athletes racing in road races over the winter and early spring and tri season will kick off again in April 2023! Thank you for catching up with us!
